Why stay
Your own quiet corner of the coast
Settle into your own private cottage on a peaceful farmlet just minutes from Penguin, one of the prettiest little seaside towns on Tasmania’s north-west coast.
Spend your days wandering the beach, exploring the shops and cafés, or heading out to the mountains, then come home to a cottage that’s entirely yours, a queen bed with luxe bedding, hot water bottles for cool nights, and a proper stash of films, games and books encouraging self discovery and delight for the perfect date night.
Outside is where it gets special. Misty paddock views, a fire pit for long evenings, and a night sky where the Milky Way puts on a show. Wake to the dawn chorus and sip your coffee while our friendly miniature goats frolic in the paddocks, then meet them up close at the morning or afternoon feed, the highlight of every stay. Time it right and there may be a wobbly-legged baby goat or two to say hello to.

The people behind it
We’re Brad & Lisa
We’re the two (well, and the goats) behind Hideaway Farmlet. What started as a dream of weaving permaculture design into this old place, with its 1948 gardens, historic farm buildings and ancient blackwoods, has grown into a sustainable and now educational little farmlet we can’t wait to share with you.
We look after the herd, the free range fowl, tend the gardens and keep dry wood for the firepit coming, all with regenerative farming at the heart of what we do.
When you stay with us, you become part of that story too. We’ll give you a friendly wave if we pass, and otherwise leave you to your privacy.
We welcome you, and consider you our honoured guests.
